Week 5, video

Week 5, screenshots

Week 5, reveal/conceal

Week 5, strategy statement (draft)

My island will have 4 main areas; an semi-urban/industrial area with a fishing harbour, a rainforest/river/canals area, a hilly rural and farming area and a bay/beach with lots of cliffs.

I will be using weather, vegetation arrangements, object arrangements and sculpting the land and water volumes to reveal/conceal my letter/number combination. Vegetation and landform will work to reveal the letter/number combination on a macro scale. The landform will also cast a shadow which depicts the letter/number combination which will map over the surface of the island and change position as the time of day setting is changed.

Things I am planning on adding to island to reveal/conceal:
Macro scale; shape of island, aerial view of piers and boats, aerial view of park and industrial area - the layout of buildings and vegetation, aerial view of water body and fog surrounding the water, aerial view of off shore cliff bodies, aerial view of tonal differences of the textures covering the farming fields

Micro scale; rock formations, series of broken enties (eg. broken wooden path or broken pier) amongst unbroken ones creating 'secret' patterns, ground vegetation (such as grass and moss) layout, shadows cast my structures.
